Source: Awful Announcing
Awful Announcing has learned of a round of layoffs that took place Monday at Bleacher Report, aimed at winding down the company’s longform publication, B/R Mag. A Turner source confirmed the moves at B/R Mag. The layoffs are expected to impact at least 10 people.
Bleacher Report editor-in-chief Ben Osborne was let go as part of these layoffs, as were senior writers Howard Beck and Jonathan Abrams, senior editor Jake Leonard, deputy managing editor Elliott Pohnl, staff writer David Gardner, and writers Leo Sepkowitz, Yaron Weitzman, Tyler Dunne, and Scott Miller. (Staff writer Mirin Fader, who was retained but will be moving to other B/R projects, discussed many of their contributions in a thread here.) We’ll update our article further as more names publicly disclose their status. The layoffs were carried out by B/R chief content officer Sam Toles.
