CareerSource Tampa Bay, the nonprofit charged with helping businesses recruit local talent, is temporarily laying off 51 staff members.
On April 5, Tampa Bay Workforce Alliance Inc., known as CareerSource Tampa Bay, filed a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act letter with the state, notifying them the company will be laying off 51 workers as it undergoes a transition.
The layoffs are directly related to CareerSource Tampa Bay outsourcing its Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act adult and dislocated worker program, which provides job search and training assistance, to Michigan-based Educational Data Systems Inc. It will also be outsourcing its career services program and a portion of its business services program to EDSI.
