More than 1,000 workers are facing layoffs at the GM’s Wentzville assembly plant. Some employees said the cuts are due to a drop in sales blaming the COVID-19 pandemic and manpower shortages. Employees are expected to be laid off beginning July 20 and will be reduced to two shifts.
