As hotels across the U.S. continue to face the financial turmoil of the coronavirus pandemic, the high-end Kimpton Nine Zero Hotel in Boston terminated a majority of its staff this week, amounting to more than 50 union-backed workers who are now laid off. The Unite Here Local 26 union that represents much of Kimpton's staff announced in a statement that the company terminated 52 long-standing employees of its 77 union-backed workers, marking more than two-thirds of the hotel�s total workforce.
