Altice Europe unit SFR plans to lay off up to 1,700 employees, or about 11% of its staff, in France this year, Reuters reported March 3, citing a company statement. The French telecom operator said the exits would be voluntary, according to the report. The layoffs are in line with SFR's new strategic plan that aims to take into account new digitalization habits that led to a 30% decrease in the number of visitors to its stores.
