130 workers are set to be laid off at the Siemens factory in Fort Madison, Iowa, according to Lee County Economic Development Group President and CEO, Dennis Fraise. Fraise says the announcement was made today, and the layoffs are due to the factory phasing out their shorter blade product. Over 400 employees will still work at the plant after the layoffs are complete. Fraise also says the Lee County Economic Development Group will work with the laid off workers to help them get jobs in Lee County.
